Mara Shelley, CMHC Intern

Therapist (Orem)

Life experience is complex. We all face many and varied traumas.  It can be overwhelming! As an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapist, I view people as a combination of mental, physical and spiritual parts. I assist them as they emerge as courageous, confident and compassionate self-leaders. I believe in a collaborative effort between therapist and client. Throughout our journey together, we get curious. You will discover, accept, grow, and rise to a more whole self.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing (RN) and soon, a master’s in Clinical Mental Health (CMHC). Personally, I am a survivor of a severe motor vehicle accident. My foundation in trauma and medicine helps me as I navigate the traumas associated with psychological difficult as well as physical injury. My experience has widened my lens and I offer a level of empathy that is rare. I have six beautiful children that taught me that each individual experience is worthy of high levels of attention. I will use my experience and education to help create the best possible connection and beneficial therapeutic experience to promote change, increase growth and facilitate healing.

Together, we will find solutions that will lead you to hope, healing and happiness!
